About Amuse
What is Amuse?
Amuse is an early allergen introduction system for infants 2 months and older. Developed by a board-certified pediatric allergist, our daily drops deliver precise microdoses of six major allergens (peanut, cashew, walnut, sesame, egg, and milk) to support your baby’s developing immune system during the critical window when food tolerance is established.
Ready to begin?
How does Amuse work?
Amuse works by training your baby’s immune system to recognize common food allergens as safe, rather than threats to be attacked.
Here’s the process:
Daily exposure builds tolerance: Each day, you give your baby 3 pumps of Amuse (about half a dropperful) under the tongue. This delivers tiny, controlled amounts of six major allergens—peanut, cashew, walnut, sesame, egg, and milk.
The immune system learns: When these allergen proteins contact the specialized immune cells in your baby’s mouth and digestive system, something important happens. Instead of developing an allergic response, your baby’s immune system learns to tolerate these proteins as normal, harmless foods.
The critical window: This works best during a specific developmental period—roughly 2-6 months old—when your baby’s immune system is actively learning what’s safe and what’s dangerous. Starting early, before sensitization occurs, gives the immune system the best chance to develop healthy tolerance.
Sustained protection: With consistent daily use, this repeated, gentle exposure helps establish long-term tolerance. Think of it like teaching your baby a new language—the earlier and more consistently you introduce it, the more naturally they learn.
The science behind this approach comes from landmark research studies (LEAP, EAT, PreventADALL) showing that early, regular allergen introduction can reduce food allergy risk by 67-86%. Amuse makes this research-backed approach simple, safe, and accessible from day one.
Why Amuse?
The challenge: Babies can’t safely eat whole peanuts, tree nuts, or eggs at 2 months, yet up to 20% are already sensitized by the time solid foods begin at 6 months. This creates a gap where Amuse makes the biggest difference.
The Amuse Difference
Earlier start: Amuse is safe for babies as young as 2 months, well before babies can eat whole allergenic foods
Complete & consistent: Six major allergens included in every daily dose of Amuse—no complex rotation needed
Safe by design: Our formula was developed by a pediatric-allergist. Each bottle contains precise microdoses and is third-party tested.
Simple: Just 3 pumps daily. Amuse works with any feeding routine—nursing, formula, or solids

Getting Started
When should I start using Amuse?
You can start Amuse as early as 2 months old. Many families choose to begin during this early window, before solid foods are introduced.
Always consult your pediatrician before starting, especially if your baby has existing eczema or a family history of severe allergies.
Why 2 months matters: Research suggests that sensitization to common food allergens can begin early—often before solid foods are introduced. Starting during this window helps support immune system education before sensitivities may develop.
Ready to begin?
What if my baby is already 6+ months old?
It’s not too late! While starting at 2-4 months is ideal, early introduction is beneficial at any age before significant sensitization occurs. Many families start Amuse when beginning solid foods around 6 months.
If your baby is older than 6 months and hasn’t had exposure to these allergens yet, we recommend consulting with your pediatrician or allergist before starting, especially if there are signs of eczema or food sensitivities.
Do I need to consult my pediatrician first?
We always recommend discussing Amuse with your pediatrician. This is particularly important if your baby:
- Has moderate to severe eczema
- Has a sibling or parent with severe food allergies
- Has shown any signs of food sensitivities
- Was born prematurely
For babies without these risk factors, parents may feel comfortable starting Amuse on their own, but we encourage open communication with your healthcare provider.
Can I use Amuse if I am breastfeeding?
Yes! Amuse is perfectly compatible with breastfeeding. In fact, combining breastfeeding with early allergen introduction may provide complementary benefits for immune system development.
Amuse drops don’t interfere with nursing, and you don’t need to wait any specific time before or after feeding to administer Amuse.
What if my baby has a dairy or soy intolerance?
Please consult your pediatrician or allergist before starting Amuse if your baby has a diagnosed intolerance or allergy. While our drops are well below typical reaction thresholds, individualized medical guidance is important for babies with known sensitivities.
Safety & Dosing
Is Amuse Safe for all babies?
Amuse is designed to be safe for most infants starting at 2 months. Our microdosing protocol uses protein volumes well below typical reaction thresholds. However, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before starting if your baby has existing allergies, severe eczema, or significant family history of allergies.
How much of each allergen is in one dose?
Each daily dose (3 pumps = 0.42mL) contains precise volumes of purified protein extract per allergen. This microdose range is:
All six allergens (peanut, cashew, walnut, sesame, egg white, milk) are present in every bottle.
What should I watch for after the first dose?
While reactions to our microdoses are extremely rare due to the low amounts, it’s good practice to monitor your baby after the first few doses. Watch for symptoms like the ones listed below. If you notice any concerning symptoms, stop use immediately and contact your pediatrician or call 911.
Hives or rash
Swelling of the lips, face, or tongue
Vomiting or diarrhea
Difficulty breathing or wheezing
Excessive fussiness or discomfort
Can I give too much? What if I accidentally give extra pumps?
While we recommend sticking to the 3-pump daily dose for consistency, accidentally giving 4-5 pumps on occasion is not dangerous. Our doses are designed with safety margins well below reaction thresholds.
However, don’t intentionally give more than the recommended dose—more is not better for building tolerance, and consistency at the recommended amount is what matters most.
What kind of testing is done on Amuse?
- Safety: Microbial testing to ensure no harmful bacteria or contaminants
- Stability: Verifying the formula maintains its effectiveness throughout shelf life
- Accuracy: Confirming precise allergen protein concentrations
Using Amuse
How do I administer Amuse?
Give your baby Amuse in 3 easy steps:
Step 1: Shake the bottle well for 5-10 seconds
Step 2: Gently insert the tip of the bottle into baby’s mouth, ideally under baby’s tongue to encourage swallowing.
Step 3: Press the pump 3 times for a complete dose (0.42mL total). The drops have a mild, slightly sweet taste that most babies tolerate well.
That’s it! Your baby’s developing immune system will take it from there. What’s most important is finding a consistent routine that allows for frequent exposure to these allergens.
Pro tip: Administer after a feeding when baby is calm and content. Some parents find it easiest during a diaper change when baby is lying down.
Ready to begin?
What if my baby spits it out or doesn't swallow?
Good news—swallowing isn’t necessary!
Even if baby spits out some of the liquid after you administer it, the allergen proteins have already made contact with the immune cells in the mouth. Don’t worry about giving an extra dose to “make up” for spit-out drops.
What time of day should I give Amuse?
Anytime that works consistently for your routine! Some popular options include:
After morning feeding: When baby is usually calm and happy
Before bedtime: Drops become part of the evening routine
During diaper changes: Baby is already lying down and Amuse can be a fun distraction
The most important thing is picking a time you can stick with daily. Consistency is what matters the most!
What if I miss a day?
How long should I continue using Amuse?
Can I use Amuse with other allergen introduction products?
Yes! Amuse can complement other introduction methods. Many families follow a schedule like this:
Amuse (2-6 months): Early allergen exposure before solid foods
Amuse + food-based products (6+ months): Guarantees allergen exposure while baby is introduced to table foods
Amuse + whole foods (8+ months): Continued use of Amuse drops alongside table foods until baby is consuming these allergens on a regular basis (2-3x per week)
How should I store Amuse?
Unopened bottles: Unopened bottles of Amuse should be stored in the refrigerator until ready for use. Refrigeration helps maintain the protein potency in the drops.
Open bottles: Opened bottles should be stored at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. No refrigeration needed! Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use. Each bottle has a 12-month shelf life from the manufacturing date (check the expiration date on your bottle).
What if I want to stop using Amuse?
You can stop using Amuse at any time—but it’s important not to stop allergen exposure entirely. The protective effect of early introduction only lasts as long as your child continues eating these foods regularly.
Here’s what to do when you discontinue Amuse:
Transition to whole foods: Start introducing these allergens through regular foods as early as your baby is developmentally ready. Ideally, your child should be eating all six allergens (peanut, tree nuts, eggs, sesame, milk, and dairy products) by 12 months.
Maintain consistent exposure: Once you stop Amuse, aim for approximately 2 grams of protein from each allergen at least 3 times per week. Two grams of protein from each allergen is roughly:
- 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
- Half of a large egg
- 2 ounces of milk or yogurt
- 2 teaspoons of tahini (sesame)
- Small handful of tree nuts (or 2 teaspoons nut butter)
Why it matters: Food allergies are most likely to develop in the first 3 years of life. Consistent exposure during this critical period—whether through Amuse or whole foods—is your best protection. Gaps in exposure can allow sensitization to occur.
That said, many families continue using Amuse well into toddlerhood for foods their child refuses to eat. Continuing Amuse ensures they still get consistent exposure to those proteins. Since they’re already familiar with the drops, it’s often easier than battling food preferences during the critical first 3 years when allergies are most likely to develop.

Science & Research
What research supports early allergen introduction?
Three landmark clinical trials transformed our understanding of the development of food allergies:
- LEAP Study (2015): Researches saw an 86% reduction in peanut allergy among high-risk infants who began regular peanut consumption at 4-11 months old.
- EAT Study (2016): Researchers introduced six common allergens to breastfed infants starts at 3 months old. Early introduction led to a 67% reduction in egg allergy and significantly lower rates of peanut allergy.
- PreventADALL (2020): Infants (starting at 3 months) who received early introduction of common allergens showed 48% lower food allergy rates by age 3, demonstrating that the protective effect extends beyond just peanut to multiple allergens.
Based on this evidence, major medical organizations (AAP, AAAAI, ACAAI) now recommend early allergen introduction for all infants starting around 4-6 months.

How is Amuse different than feeding my baby these foods?
Start earlier: You can begin Amuse as early as 2 months old, well before your baby is developmentally ready to safely eat whole allergenic foods like peanuts, tree nuts, or eggs. This earlier start captures the critical immune development window when tolerance-building is most effective.
Precise, controlled dosing: Each dose delivers exact microdose amounts that are well below typical reaction thresholds but sufficient for immune exposure. With whole foods, it’s difficult to know exactly how much allergen protein your baby is getting.
Direct immune exposure: The drops are placed under the tongue where they contact the oral mucosa (mouth tissue rich in specialized immune cells that promote tolerance) before your baby swallows. This direct exposure engages the immune system in a unique way that complements digestion.
All six allergens daily: Amuse ensures your baby gets consistent exposure to all six major allergens every single day. With food-based introduction, it can be challenging to rotate through multiple allergens regularly, especially before your baby has a varied diet.
Convenient and consistent: A simple 3-pump dose takes seconds and works whether your baby is 2 months or 2 years old, nursing or eating solids.
Think of Amuse as a bridge—it starts protecting your baby’s immune system early, then works alongside whole foods once your baby begins eating them.
Why these six allergens?
These six allergens account for approximately 90% of food allergies in children:
- Peanut: The most common and often severe allergen, accounting for about 25% of childhood food allergies
- Tree nuts (cashew, walnut): Together these account for approximately 18% of childhood food allergies and often persist into adulthood
- Sesame: A rising allergen now recognized as a major concern, accounting for roughly 7% of childhood food allergies and recently added to the FDA’s list of major allergens
- Egg: One of the most common early childhood allergies, representing about 20% of food allergies in young children
- Milk: Affects approximately 20% of children with food allergies, making it one of the most prevalent allergens in infancy
By addressing these six, Amuse covers the vast majority of childhood food allergies in one convenient, daily dose.
